Werewolves in America

America's Supernatural Secrets

Legends of werewolves come from American Indian legends. They derive from stories of strange wolf-like creature sightings, and people who are simply misunderstood. This fascinating book explores some of these legends and how they have developed into the werewolf tales of today. The final chapter explores popular werewolves, including Lon Chaney, Jr.'s The Werewolf and Jacob Black in the popular Twilight series.

Book Review: Werewolves in America
"Werewolves are a hot topic in YA literature and media, so a book about werewolves couldn't come out at a better time. This book takes a different approach than what one usually finds for students this age, by using examples and cases of werewolf sightings and occurrences as a foundation for the book. ... Well written and compiled as this book is, middle school libraries and public libraries should definitely add this to their collection, given that there is an interest in the topic. A high school library might also consider this book because of its high/low level."
