Viking Explorers and Settlers
By the eighth century, the Vikings were hungry for land. They sailed west to Scottish islands in the North Sea. They discovered and settled in Iceland, which has more than 271,000 Norse descendants today. They voyaged to North America and invaded Europe's countries to the south and the east. As a result, they founded Norse colonies all over Europe that influenced the language, laws, and customs of many different cultures.

Book Review--"Excellent book which presents the information on Vikings in an attractive easy to understand format. The maps, beautiful pictures and darkened vocabulary words that can be found in the glossary add to the educational value of the book."
