"This
series, aimed at lower reading level middle grade students, uses a traditional
comic panel format. ... Each book contains a "main characters" section which
introduces key figures in each man's life. This feature would make great
pre-reading activities for students. ... The color-saturated illustrations provide
readers with a sense of place and time. A detailed timeline, glossary with
pronunciation help, and website for further reading appear at each title's end.
The timeline could be used by teachers as a follow-up to check for student
understanding. I will be recommending this series to our resource teachers who
cover the American Revolution. Recommended"
