The Hydrogen Bomb
Unleashing the Nuclear Age and Arms Race
The Library of Weapons of Mass Destruction
With WW II over, the United States had to decide whether or not to continue atomic weaponry research and experiments. When news came that the Soviet Union was developing nuclear weapons the choice became clear, and the United States set about building the hydrogen, or super, bomb. The arms race between the United States and the Soviet Union ignited the nuclear age, and the idea of a defense system that is just as deadly as the threats it is meant to protect against.
