Book Review: Hurricane
Disasters
"I found the book
Hurricane Disasters to be very educational as well as attractive for
middle school readers. This topic is especially relevant to our 6th
grade students because they discuss hurricanes during their general science
class. The book covered various events involving hurricanes such as: Hurricane
Katrina, 2005; Typhoon Vera, 1959; and Hurricane Ike, 2008. This book would be a
good reference for middle school readers to use as it provides detailed facts
with colorful authentic photographs and diagrams showing where and how
hurricanes happen. The table of contents, glossary, and index were all easy to
utilize."
