This book follows the crew of the Endeavour SRTM (Space Radar Topography Mission) as it maps 80 percent of Earth's landmasses during an 11-day journey in February 2000. These new and better maps would help pilots fly more safely, firefighters reach blazes more easily, and scientists see flooding patterns, landslides, and earthquakes. Included in the book is an exclusive interview with Kevin Kregel, commander of the Endeavour SRTM.
