The United States Plains Wars
Lasting from 1757 to 1900, the Battle of the Plains consisted of numerous violent conflicts between Native American tribes and the U.S. government. These struggles concluded with the Red River War and the Great Sioux War. This book provides readers with an in-depth look at the Plains Wars, including the tribes involved, their modes of warfare, the background to the fighting, and the tragic toll that the wars took on all involved, including civilians. The scope and legacy of these battles is examined.
