Hydropower of the Future
The modern use of waterpower to generate electricity is called hydropower. Today we have a looming shortage of fossil fuels and a dangerous rise in air pollution. While hydropower was an important source of energy in the middle of the last century, it was displaced by a large, cheap supply of fossil fuels. As fossil fuels lose some of their glitter, energy experts are looking once again at the ancient idea of creating power from water.
